Peter’s continued and inexplicable solo residence at the Rovers is threatened when a stolen bottle of whisky gets him on Jenny’s radar. A chance conversation between Tracy and Nick eventually puts Leanne’s plans of spending the week in her jammies pretending to be in France in jeopardy. Dev decides to treat his time-traveling twins on the occasion of their — ahem — 16th birthday by airbrushing their mother’s name from the front of his shop. Asha listens to the advice of Nina and Yasmeen, does what she’s told, decides to forge her own path, and tells ITV Corey that he can keep his birthday present in his trousers. It’s musical chairs time for Seb, Emma, and Alina, as an impending skyscraper forces them to get creative to find new places to live. Faye’s sickness and constant traveling up and down the Stairs of Discovery leads Sally to believe that she knows more than she’s letting on about Gary’s incarceration. Ray calls Roy an imbecile and as a result is almost immediately accosted by two masked thugs. Johnny forgets what Jenny smells like. Ally McAllister really should’ve taken a transfer when he had a chance. Sandra is shown the outside menu. Ruby’s rash is back.

In prison, someone has stolen Gary’s shoes and socks but he still manages to give a fairly bleak message to Faye to let him carry the can for Adam’s assault. Abi gets her hands on a big pickup truck and a teeny tiny bullhorn as the residents continue their protest against Ray’s Coronation Towers development. Arthur’s return last week turns out to be fleeting and he threatens to take our Evelyn with him as he gives her 24 hours to decide if she wants to join him in Canada. No one is prepared for the suddenness of Grace’s release from prison and reintroduction to the street. After around forty years, Johnny’s day in court finally arrives leaving a frantic and panicked Jenny to get her felt tips out. Aadi is reminded that there really is nothing he can do to earn any lasting praise or attention from his father when the mock results are announced. Angsty teens, Simon and Kelly the Chin, find some common ground in Speed Daal but Leanne’s attempts to pretend to be in France threatens to scupper their plans. Imran is 1 for 2. Dr Gaddas doesn’t recommend coffee after six. Roy knows arguably too much about donkey jackets. PC Tinker urges calm.

Tim’s Dad’s been dead for a couple of weeks so the decision is made to bury him so that jokes can be made about him being trapped in a box. Now that everyone’s forgotten why they were angry with Todd, he can expedite his latest stupid plan to oust Paul, while making time for a cheeky game of Mysterium with Summer. Imran and Toyah are trapped in their own A Quiet Place as they attempt to do the dishes and keep Baby Mason asleep. Nick turns to Sam for advice on the intricacies of commercial real estate contract law. Asha threatens Dev with a Christmas tree decoration. Steve and Tim go to the toilets together. Tom needs to write up his report. Billy is surprised.

Natasha has a surprise new job in That London and has to move there on Christmas Eve and she’s taking a reluctant Sam with her. Toyah and Imran take custody of wee Mason but have to rely on Gemma to be taught the importance of an armpit dummy and an empty plastic bottle. Todd and Will’s machinations are predictably causing a rift between Paul and Billy, the latter of whom makes Billy Bob Thornton seem a Decent Santa by comparison. Chesney and Kirk are forced to resort to a Plan B when their stall takings and stock are stolen, although we never find out what that plan is, or if the only thing Joseph gets for Christmas is a bath. DS Whatever is closing in on Gary, which makes it a very inopportune moment for Kelly the Chin to turn up again looking for an update on her dad’s whereabouts. Last week’s Bistro shenanigans may well be the final straw for David and Shona unless the spirit of the season and a six foot cuddly rabbit can do something about it. Christmas proves difficult for Yasmeen until Tim’s Mum arrives with some timely advice. A cheesecake is used as a metaphor. Lily inhales beads. Leanne has a moussaka in the oven. Tim gets a decades-worth of back presents. Everyone splits up.

At any given time, one Corrie resident is contractually obliged to be in an induced coma, and this week it’s the turn of Adam to be out for the count while everyone on the street behaves suspiciously enough to be a prime suspect in his whacking. Paul is twice convinced to break helpdesk rules by a kid whose only acting credit up to that point was playing the dog in The Wizard of Oz. Shona and Simon are best friends now and so celebrate this by breaking into the Bistro and stealing well-garnished cocktails. Tim’s Mum tells Tim to resurrect his window cleaning business in an attempt to make him forget that he asked her to move in with him and Sally. Leanne is growing tired of Toyah and Nick walking on eggshells around her when it comes to their own child-related storylines. Billy’s moonwalking has come on leaps and bounds. Daisy is an evil stepdaughter. Kirk is having a nightmare. Gail decorates the toilet.

It’s Corrie’s 60th birthday, and it looks like some characters may not be around to celebrate the 61st. Leanne has decided to run away from her grief and disappear to France for a bit, but a misplaced charger and a flossing pre-teen contrive to make her change her mind. The Rebel Alliance set up camp outside a brewery to stop the bulldozers of progress make way for a skyscraper, forcing Ken to grab a couple of plastic bags from the Co-Op and become Weatherfield’s Tank Man. Peter’s reluctance to trust Carla moves him to overcome this by proposing to her and then scooting off together to the ever-popular Kefalonia. Daniel is ushered out of every home on the street. Yasmeen’s house’s roof is comfortable but slippery. Kev mispronounces Kirkcaldy. DS Abney believed Yasmeen all along. Cathy insults a corpse.

After 18 months of build up and 8 months after she swung a wine bottle, Yasmeen finally gets her day in court and finds herself up against a prosecuting barrister who might be DS Abney without the wig. Leanne wants Oliver’s funeral to be a celebration of his life but an unexpected and unwanted guest threatens to permanently destroy her very fragile mood. Led by Abi, who possesses more in the way of detecting skills than the combined whole of the Weatherfield Constabulary, the residents begin to put ask questions of the proposed development of a massive skyscraper on the street, while Ray has resorted to form in a hotel room, this time with trainee manager Faye. A sheepish Johnny comes home from a night in the cells, intending to plead guilty to his part in the demise of Grant the Security Guard. Shona may live to regret lending a supportive ear to impressionable Simon but at least she’s getting an old iPod out of the deal. Sarah’s drunken public recap of Carla’s dalliance in the Knicker Factory office simultaneously troubles Peter, Adam, and Carla. Daisy sets Jenny up on Tinder. Tim’s Dad borrows Pauline’s pass for ten minutes. Craig could be a bit more supportive.

Jenny puts the rapid deterioration of her marriage on the back burner while she becomes reacquainted with her ex-step-daughter and her boating boyfriend. Leanne has been to the library for lots of big books as she contemplates teaching herself law in the 48 hours ahead of Oliver's appeal, until Nick, Steve, Toyah, and circumstance force her to accept an impossible outcome. Johnny finds it impossible to get rid of Grant the Security Guard's Mum, whose presence only serves to confuse events of that robbery four decades ago. Alya has a plastic bag theory and then discovers that Tim's Dad's magic room wallpaper is far worse than she could ever have possibly expected. Summer really has forgiven Todd who manages to shmooz his way into Games Night, much to Billy and Paul's chagrin. Ryan talked to a donkey. Shona is not dressed for the school-run. We all become more familiar with Oldham postcodes.

Ray Weinstein leaves plans for his massive skyscraper in plain sight on his desk, presumably a deliberate act to relieve the monotony of dealing with people on the street and so he can have some fun messing with PC Tinker. The idea of possible Supreme and European Court appeals helps Steve come to a resolution, while Emma does her best to ease tensions by suggesting a memory box of Oliver and his apparently mahoooosive feet. Peter takes a vape break in the wrong part of town, where the villains steal taxis and the guardian angels carry hipflasks. Adam gets to know his Auntie Carla a little better. Todd is still determined to replace Paul but is shocked when Summer returns from Granny Geraldine's Gulag. At Sean's definitely-not-a-pyramid-scheme party, Fiz helps Tyrone find his feminine side. Billy does the work of Kofi Annan a severe disservice. Daniel is panic-buying Easter eggs.

As Oliver's court case approaches and tensions run high, Leanne may be about to resort to one of her more infamous mistakes. Alina's love life doesn't interest Sarah until it absolutely does. Sarah continues to be a miserable cow to Paul who is just trying to have a quiet life and stay out of horrid Todd's way. Billy's failure to inform Paul of a visit from a bishop has been lifted from a Brian Rix farce (one for the kids, there). Eileen gets a visit from The Undertaker who continues to work his charm on her. Everyone tells Nick not to give up on Leanne. Kirk is in charge of team-building. Sean is a peacock. Steve borrows a tie.
