The Talk of the Street is a weekly unofficial Coronation Street podcast that has been purposefully ill-informed since 2018. In around 105 minutes, Helen and Gavin break down the storylines of the week, share opinions, get things wrong, and pick out a Moment of the Week. They are the creative masterminds behind the London!? meme that you've seen that probably wasn't credited to us, the curators of Fred Noises, and they produce a free weekly blog that really deserves to be syndicated. They're also very humble.

A great week on the Cobbles sees Gemma lose The Rovers before she actually got a chance to win it and instead there’ll be a different landlady shouting at startled extras. A spooky DVD gives Alya pause with regards to her future at the factory, Steve buys yet another engagement ring and needs just one more to get a free set of steak knives, and Tim and Sally may live to regret not contacting the bank when that dodgy £1,000 just dropped into her account because Duncan’s back and he has a story to tell. And Gav still point blank refuses to learn Tim’s Dad’s name, which becomes annoying when Tim’s Dad shares more than one scene a week with Tim.

Eva enjoyed leaving so much last week that she came back on Friday just to leave all over again, but this time she didn't take Adam. Meanwhile, Gemma finally starts to look like landlady material as she threatens to bar a fighting Mary and Gina, a homeless Sean makes a friend but seems to forget he already has quite a few of them that could help, and we’re forced to look at Daniel’s chest for ten seconds longer than is acceptable. The revolving door on the cobbles continues to spin as two major characters and one minor one get into their final taxi this week. Kayla goes all A Few Good Men in her pursuit of the truth and Bethany’s skull recovers in record time from a vasing. Meanwhile, Beth manages to coax people who hate her to her party, an observant Hope reckons she’s seen Brian somewhere before, an Idris Elba fantasy sees Mary perform a lewd act with a fancy flower, and Christopher Nolan gets in touch with his lawyers. Have a look at out website, thtalkofthestreetpodcast.wordpress.com, for details on how to get in touch as well as a reasonably regularly updated blog page. Well, it will be now that Gav’s got the password reset.

Our first milestone — somehow, this is our 10th podcast. In this week's episodes, Johnny continues to change his mind about who he loves, Liz continues to appear in scenes she has no business being in, and Jenny continues to think her marriage is salvageable. Meanwhile, Gemma performed a full-nelson on Henry in the middle of the street in the name of love, Brian demonstrates the worst time to hand in your notice, Steve is only reasonably sure that he’s engaged to Tracy, and the mystery of the contents of a hot box remains unsolved. For now. Have a look at out website, thetalkofthestreetpodcast.wordpress.com for details on how to get in touch, as well as a reasonably regularly updated blog page.

Jack’s juggernaut of a sepsis story line comes to a heartbreaking conclusion this week with Kev having to make the toughest decision since he wondered about going to that mechanic’s conference last week. In other news, Johnny is at least 9.2 Johnny all they way through Friday, Sean goes bin-raking for a place to stay, Neil had red thrown on him in another disagreement with his fellow inmates, and Steve and Tim camp it up as imposter cleaners also imposing as Starksy and Hutch. David Soul would probably approve. Please feel free to interact with us. July 6, 2018 - The Flaky Pastry Warning
Saturday Jul 07, 2018
Saturday Jul 07, 2018
What a week for fans of sausages and sausage rolls. Eccles will always love sausages. Simon has been sworn off them. Craig keeps the lovely flaky bagged remains from a sausage roll previously consumed, as well he might. In other news, Jack’s life hangs in the balance with Ally roaming the wards and halls of Weathy General reading the notes like he’d wandered into a library. Meanwhile, Ryan, who we’ve been tricked into liking, does his best to undo all that good work, and then manages to suck far too many other storylines into his. Dev’s been watching his collection of Mike Meyer’s movies. Steve has problems identifying Tracy’s ring. The World Cup is still on, so that means weird Corrie transmission dates. We do our best to muddle through. Flora lands a fortune — according to Adam — and has a 50s party thrown in her honor that has Steve turning up as Evel Knievel. Or Elvis. It’s hard to tell. There’s a double proposal that gives Ken a reason to turn up and say stuff. Simon is a tit. Plus, it’s really hot where we’re recording the podcast, so forgive us if we seem in a bit of a rush to finish up. Cheers.

Saturday Jun 23, 2018
Saturday Jun 23, 2018
We’re back from our hols with enough obscure Richard Herring and Ice T references to make a sailor blush. We’re here to walk you through this week’s World Cup shifted episodes which sees Johnny and Hope descend into forms of purest evil. Once more we’re left to wonder what exact kind of crappy lawyer’s office does Adam think he’s running and Abi’s enthusiasm for bairns is perhaps unmatched for her enthusiasm for cheap vodka. And if Alya can’t even remember to stock up on the cream horns, what hope does Underworld have to survive? Also, beaver. June 8, 2018 - Oo, Nigel Havers
Saturday Jun 09, 2018
Saturday Jun 09, 2018
We're back to six episodes this week as we bask in the aftermath of Phelan's demise. Join us as we walk through this week's storylines (except Rosie). Gail's gullibility forces Roy to throw out some ninja moves and encourages Audrey into a car with Nigel Havers. Rosie leaves the cobbles and the law firm and if her attention to detail vis a vis photocopying is anything to go by, she won't be missed. Aidan's funeral finally gets a date and the spectre of the will begins to loom large. In a moment of desperation, Gavin considers changing his name to Kevin. It's Britain's Got Talent Final Week (apparently) and that can only mean big things on the post-watershed cobbles. Join us as we walk through this week's storylines. We see a conclusion to Pat Phelan's shenanigans, how Robert's prediction of what will be the best day of his and Michelle's lives pans out, and David begins his fight back against Josh. Oh, and Nigel Havers is back. For fun, count along with us as we track the number of times we use the word ridiculous.
